This conference aims (i) to examine the dialectical nature between transnational and intercultural relations and the notion of morality across different social communities , (ii) to identify problematic issues in international relations that exceed conflicting interests and are not merely linked to power relations and (iii) to identify and suggest solutions or guide to directions in tone both with the universal claim for justice and with the moderation of the perceived threat towards traditional group identities, such as that of ethnicity, along with the values of collectivity which such identities may represent. The conference is co-organized with the Municipality of Kavala and the Municipal Library of Kavala \u2018Vassilis Vassilikos\u2019 and it is supported by the Center for Hellenic Studies of the University of Chicago.
